BookLocalPH ("Platform," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data in compliance with the Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), its Implementing Rules and Regulations, and other applicable issuances of the National Privacy Commission (NPC).

1. Who This Policy Applies To

This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including Guests who browse listings, create bookings, or leave reviews; Resort Owners who register, list Properties, and manage bookings; and Visitors who access the Platform without creating an account.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account & Identity Information — full name, email address, mobile number, and password (encrypted).
• Resort Owner Business Information — resort/property name, address, description, photos, room rates, GCash number, and government-issued ID for identity/ownership verification.
• Booking Information — guest name, email, phone number, check-in/check-out dates, number of guests, arrival time, and special requests.
• Payment-Related Information — GCash reference numbers and payment receipt screenshots submitted for booking verification. We do not process or store full payment card or bank account credentials, as accommodation payments are made directly between Guest and Resort Owner.
• Reviews and Content — reviews, ratings, and photos you choose to submit.
• Device and Usage Data — IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, and time spent on the Platform.
• Cookies — used to remember preferences (e.g., dark/light mode) and keep you logged in.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to facilitate bookings between Guests and Resort Owners, verify identity (including email verification codes and ID document review), maintain Wallet and commission records, communicate booking confirmations and updates, maintain platform security and prevent fraud, improve the Platform, send marketing communications where you have opted in, and comply with legal obligations.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share it: between Guests and Resort Owners as necessary to complete a Booking; with trusted service providers (database/hosting, email delivery, analytics) who are contractually bound to protect it; when required by law or governmental request; and in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition. Some service providers may store data on servers outside the Philippines; we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable data protection standards in such cases.

5. Data Storage and Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational security measures, including encrypted password storage, access controls on sensitive data such as ID documents, and HTTPS-encrypted connections. No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we commit to promptly investigating and addressing any suspected data breach in accordance with NPC requirements. We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by law.

6. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under the Data Privacy Act, you have the right to be informed, the right to access your data, the right to object to certain processing, the right to erasure or blocking, the right to rectify inaccurate data, the right to data portability, the right to damages for unauthorized use of your data, and the right to file a complaint with the National Privacy Commission.

7. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors, and will delete any such data if we become aware it was collected without appropriate consent.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
